The sudden postponement of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group II and IIA main exams on Sunday led to confusion and political tensions in the state. The exams, set to take place at various centers in Tamil Nadu, were delayed due to issues with hall tickets and exam hall allocations. This move left many candidates who had traveled from different districts disappointed as they were informed of the cancellation upon arrival.
Former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized the DMK government, calling the postponement of such a significant exam on the exam day a sign of administrative failure. He highlighted the struggles faced by lakhs of aspirants who had prepared for years for the exams. Palaniswami also questioned the government’s ability to govern efficiently, pointing out the failure to fulfill job promises made in 2021.
TNPSC Controller of Examinations A. Shanmuga Sundaram attributed the confusion to the incorrect allocation of exam halls in Chennai. He expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and assured that fresh exam dates would be announced soon.
