Veteran England cricketer Tammy Beaumont announced her retirement from international cricket following the upcoming Test match against India at Lord’s. Beaumont, who debuted in 2009, will end her 17-year career during the first women’s Test match at the historic venue. She leaves the game as a prominent figure, having played 260 matches for England and scoring a total of 7,325 runs.
The 35-year-old cricketer, known for her exceptional performances, was a key player in England’s victory at the 2017 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. Beaumont, who holds the record for the most centuries in ODIs for England with 12 hundreds, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent her country for nearly two decades.
Beaumont, who also excelled in all three formats of the game, including becoming the first Englishwoman to score a Test double-century in 2023, will continue her cricket journey with domestic teams The Blaze and Birmingham Phoenix. She thanked her fans, coaches, teammates, and family for their unwavering support throughout her career.
