India’s Tanvi Sharma showcased a remarkable performance at the Orleans Masters 2026, securing a spot in the semifinals by defeating Japan’s Natsuki Nidaira in straight games. She will now face a challenging match against Nozomi Okuhara in her quest for a final berth at the BWF Super 300 event.

In a contrasting outcome, India’s Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun bid farewell to the tournament after a defeat to the third-seeded Indonesian pair in the quarterfinals of the Orleans Masters 2026.

Tanvi Sharma, a silver medallist at the World Junior Championships, continued her winning streak by triumphing over Anmol Kharb in the Round of 16. Additionally, Hariharan and Arjun clinched a victory in the men’s doubles category, advancing to the quarterfinals after a strong performance against Scotland’s Dunn and Pringle.

The Indian contingent faced mixed results in the tournament, with Aalarshi Kashyap suffering a loss to Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min in the initial round. Meanwhile, Rohan Kapoor, Ruthvika Shivani Gadde, and Ayush Shetty geared up for their upcoming matches in the mixed doubles and men’s singles events.

Tanvi Sharma’s contributions were not limited to the Orleans Masters, as she played a pivotal role in India’s success at the Badminton Asia Team Championships in Qingdao, China. Despite a loss to China in the quarterfinals, Tanvi’s impressive performance against Myanmar’s Thet Htar Thuzar highlighted her prowess on the badminton court.
