Tanzania’s President Hussein Ali Mwinyi praised India for its significant role in the development of Zanzibar during a meeting with the High Commissioner of India to Tanzania, Bishwadip Dey.
President Mwinyi welcomed High Commissioner Dey at the State House in Zanzibar and acknowledged India’s crucial contributions to Zanzibar’s progress, especially in areas such as investments, vocational training, and ICT innovation facilitated by IIT Madras Zanzibar.
High Commissioner Dey, during the meeting, conveyed an official invitation from India’s Vice President, C. P. Radhakrishnan, inviting President Mwinyi to visit India in July, with plans to tour the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras.
