Indian IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has revealed a significant global partnership with US-based AI firm Anthropic. This collaboration will involve 50,000 TCS associates utilizing Claude as part of the company’s AI adoption strategy. TCS plans to establish a dedicated business unit to provide joint industry solutions and in-depth AI knowledge on the Claude model range.
The partnership’s primary goal is to advance AI projects beyond pilot phases, particularly in regulated sectors. TCS emphasized that their expertise in governance, controls, and implementation will empower enterprises to confidently deploy Claude in production environments, not just for experimentation purposes. Through a combination of internal deployment, joint market offerings, industry innovation, and workforce training, clients will have a practical route to widespread AI adoption and tangible results.
Moreover, the collaboration extends to integrating TCS products, platforms, and domain-specific solutions. Diligenta, TCS’s FCA-regulated life and pensions business in the UK, will leverage Claude to enhance customer experience through large-scale process transformation. Additionally, TCS’s BFSI products and platforms teams will utilize Claude Code to boost productivity in software engineering and IT operations. The company also plans to contribute its domain-focused engineering expertise to the Claude Code ecosystem through reusable skills and plugins, such as claims adjudication and lending advisory capabilities.
K. Krithivasan, CEO and MD of TCS, highlighted that the true value of enterprise AI lies in comprehending business context, orchestrating intricate systems, and employing profound AI engineering skills. This partnership is expected to expedite customers’ transition to production, particularly in sectors where trust, resilience, and regulatory adherence are paramount. Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, expressed that this collaboration strengthens the company’s commitment to India, its second-largest market. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, emphasized that by merging Anthropic’s capabilities with Tata Group’s scale and trusted relationships, they aim to accelerate enterprise transformation and equip India’s youth with AI leadership skills.
