A 17-year-old boy from Bhikupura village in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh, took his life by consuming pesticide following his mother’s alleged sexual assault by Sunil Malviya, who has been arrested. The incident has sparked anger, leading to protests, road blockades, and attacks on the accused’s property, amid accusations of police inaction.
The assault on the victim’s mother prompted the family to approach the Udaynagar police station to file a complaint, but no immediate action was taken due to the absence of a female officer for sensitive cases. This delay, as perceived by villagers and the family, contributed to the boy’s distress, culminating in his tragic decision to end his life.
Enraged by the perceived negligence and the boy’s death, relatives and villagers protested by blocking a road, demanding justice and accountability. The situation escalated as the mob targeted the accused’s home, leading to police intervention to prevent further violence and restore order in the area.
