Tej Pratap Yadav, the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief, has been put under medical observation in response to chest pain complaints after being remanded to judicial custody. Doctors are closely monitoring his health status, and his legal team has already submitted a bail application to the appropriate court.
Tej Pratap Yadav’s counsel, Advocate Nisha Singh, highlighted his medical history of diabetes and high blood pressure, expressing concerns about his well-being in jail. The legal team emphasized the necessity of medical observation due to his health conditions and filed a bail plea before the SDJM overseeing the Gandhi Maidan police station area.
Questioning the legality of the arrest, the lawyer accused the police of procedural errors, claiming that Tej Pratap Yadav was detained without an FIR. Refuting allegations of inciting violence during the Bihar Bandh protests, Singh clarified that he had not engaged in any provocative behavior but had merely waved the national flag upon the request of some youths.
Allegations against Tej Pratap Yadav include charges of attempt to murder, rioting, and obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties, stemming from the Bihar Bandh incidents. Following his appearance in court and subsequent remand to 14 days of judicial custody, he has been transferred to Beur Central Jail. His health condition remains under medical supervision, while the bail application awaits court review.
