RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of being forced by the BJP to step down from his MLC position, suggesting it was not his independent choice. Tejashwi Yadav stated that BJP influences within JD(U) orchestrated the move, reiterating their earlier prediction that Nitish Kumar would not be allowed to continue as Chief Minister.
Moreover, Tejashwi Yadav criticized the government for allegedly misleading the public on various commitments. He highlighted issues such as the rise in electricity bills, the shortfall in promised financial aid to women, and the failure to fulfill post-election promises.
In a separate development, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari condemned the BJP for allegedly betraying several leaders, including Nitish Kumar. Earlier on the same day, Nitish Kumar resigned from the Legislative Council as required before assuming his new role as a Rajya Sabha member.
Nitish Kumar, who secured a Rajya Sabha seat on March 16, is set to take the oath on April 10 after submitting his resignation on March 30. This step signifies the conclusion of Nitish Kumar’s extensive tenure in the Bihar Legislative Council, where he served multiple terms since 2006.
