Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav criticized the NDA government in Bihar for expanding the cabinet under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Speaking at a press conference, Tejashwi claimed the new cabinet lacked vision and social balance. He highlighted the rapid turnover in leadership, with two Chief Ministers and four Deputy Chief Ministers in just six months.
Tejashwi questioned the moral authority of the BJP and JD(U) to criticize dynastic politics, particularly targeting the induction of individuals like Nishant Kumar and Deepak Prakash, sons of prominent politicians, into the cabinet. He expressed concerns over the lack of elected representatives being appointed as ministers and criticized the government’s handling of protests by unemployed youth demanding jobs.
The opposition leader also raised issues of regional, caste, and social imbalance in the cabinet, noting inadequate representation of various communities and minorities. Tejashwi contrasted the current situation with past RJD governments, claiming higher levels of Muslim representation. He accused the government of governance failures in key areas like education, healthcare, employment, and public grievance redressal.
Tejashwi further criticized the government for its handling of crime, citing caste-based targeting and encounters in the state. He questioned the government on unresolved scandals like the Srijan scam and the Muzaffarpur shelter home case, alleging lack of accountability. Additionally, he highlighted delays in salary and pension payments, as well as issues with housing schemes for the underprivileged.
