Bihar’s Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, cautioned the NDA government led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary of impending “major protests” if cases against NEET paper leak protestors are not withdrawn. This warning follows the recent agreement by the Centre to drop all police cases against the protesters after negotiations with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The CJP ended its agitation post the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the government’s acceptance of their demands.
Tejashwi Yadav, speaking in Patna, emphasized the students’ fight for a better future through their protests against the paper leak issue, with opposition parties and himself supporting their cause. Despite assurances of FIR withdrawals by the Centre, he criticized the continued detention of protesters in Bihar, urging for their immediate release. He highlighted the widespread detention of students and MLAs across the state, questioning the government’s actions post the Delhi agreement.
The Bihar LoP expressed concerns over the alleged misuse of authority by the police in various districts, including the use of AK-47 against students. He accused the ruling NDA government in Bihar of multiple paper leaks in various examinations, citing irregularities and scams in recruitment processes. Tejashwi Yadav stressed the need for unity to challenge the current government, claiming that criminals and corrupt individuals hold sway in the administration.
