Tejasvi Dahiya became the most expensive player in the men’s auction for Season 3 of the Delhi Premier League T20, held in New Delhi. The auction saw all eight franchises finalizing their squads in multiple rounds. Dahiya was the top pick, fetching Rs 40 lakh with South Delhi Superstarz using their RTM card to secure him.
New Delhi Tigers used their RTM to acquire Himmat Singh for Rs 38 lakh, while North Delhi Strikers matched the Rs 17 lakh bid for Sarthak Ranjan. Anuj Rawat was bought by Puraani Dilli 6 for Rs 27 lakh, and players like Kuldip Yadav, Suyash Sharma, Navdeep Saini, and Simarjeet Singh were picked up at base price by different teams.
The unsold players from the Marquee round were moved to the Category A pool at a revised base price of Rs 5 lakh each. By the end of the auction, all eight franchises had completed their squads, each comprising 23 to 26 players centered around their retained Marquee names.
Teams like Central Delhi Kings, East Delhi Riders, New Delhi Tigers, and North Delhi Strikers built their squads around key players. Outer Delhi Warriors, Puraani Dilli 6, South Delhi Superstarz, and West Delhi Lions also finalized their squads with a mix of experienced and emerging players.
With the squads now set, the focus shifts to the upcoming season as franchises aim to blend their seasoned picks with a pool of uncapped and emerging talents.
