The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted searches at the residence and other premises linked to Roads and Buildings Engineer-in-Chief Mohan Naik and his relatives. The searches are related to allegations of amassing assets disproportionate to known sources of income. Apart from Naik’s residence in Madhapur, searches were also ongoing at 15 other locations associated with him and his relatives.
Officials were scrutinizing documents, financial records, and property details recovered during the searches. Allegations have surfaced that the Engineer-in-Chief showed favoritism towards specific companies in awarding contracts and building a significant network of influence across Telangana. During the searches, authorities discovered Rs 60 lakh in cash, a kilogram of gold jewelry, and 13 gold biscuits, along with property documents in Hyderabad and Nizamabad.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials were in the process of compiling information on movable and immovable assets found during the searches. An official statement regarding the findings is expected to be released later. These actions come shortly after the arrest of suspended ASP Nayani Bhujanga Rao in a disproportionate assets case. Rao was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after being produced before a court.
