Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced the government’s commitment to turning Telangana into a prominent education and sports center in India. Initiatives such as the establishment of Young India Integrated Residential Schools and Young India Sports University are part of the state’s efforts to bring about significant reforms in education and excel in future Olympic competitions. The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing students at LB Stadium, where he, along with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, launched the distribution of Young India student kits to 27.50 lakh students and laid foundation stones for sports complexes in various districts.
Warning about the impact of the “AI storm” leading to widespread unemployment, the Chief Minister disclosed that the government has initiated skill development programs to generate more blue-collar jobs for the youth. Additionally, the state has introduced German and Japanese language teaching programs alongside English to facilitate job opportunities abroad. Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) have been upgraded to Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), and a Skill University has been established to nurture skilled manpower among the youth.
Emphasizing the importance of students from social welfare institutions pursuing careers as doctors, IAS and IPS officers, and political leaders, CM Revanth Reddy urged students to actively participate in the development of Telangana. He criticized the previous government for neglecting education standards and highlighted the current administration’s efforts to enhance educational quality, including the reopening of government schools that were previously shut down. The Chief Minister also defended his decision to personally oversee the education portfolio to revamp the system and ensure quality education for underprivileged sections.
