He emphasized the importance of proactive measures as neighboring states face similar dry conditions.
Addressing concerns over water scarcity during the upcoming rainy season, the Chief Minister led discussions on strategic actions at a high-level meeting. He stressed the need for collaboration with Maharashtra and Karnataka to ensure equitable sharing of inter-state waters amidst the prevailing drought situation.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Reddy highlighted the wastage of significant water resources and urged the formulation of effective flood diversion policies. He called for urgent repairs to all state dams and emphasized the importance of gate maintenance to prevent potential issues during the rainy season.
In a bid to support agricultural activities, the Chief Minister directed officials to align crop sowing decisions with meteorological forecasts. He emphasized the dissemination of information on crop diversification and water-efficient farming practices to farmers through various mediums, including AI-generated videos and television broadcasts.
To mitigate flood risks in urban areas, the Chief Minister proposed proactive measures in Hyderabad to prevent waterlogging. He underscored the need for infrastructure development, such as water harvesting wells, in flood-prone regions to enhance preparedness for the monsoon season.
