Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to enhance eco-tourism on forest lands within Hyderabad’s core urban area. He aims to transform forest lands in Bharat Future City into top-tier international tourism spots. The Chief Minister proposed converting these areas into eco-parks, mirroring the recently opened Gurramguda Eco Park in Rangareddy district.
At a Tourism Department review meeting, the CM urged officials to accelerate the progress of tourism projects across the state. He emphasized the need to partner with the Tourism Department to promote eco-tourism in forest lands within Hyderabad’s urban core. Reddy stressed the development of urban forest-style eco-tourism projects within CURE limits and called for the appointment of special officers to expedite the process.
Furthermore, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted the importance of enhancing tourist sites in the city, particularly emphasizing the makeover of Taramati Baradari. He also mandated the transformation of Durgam Cheruvu into a comprehensive tourist destination. Additionally, he issued directives for the renovation of Manjeera and Dilkhusha guest houses in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister also outlined plans to develop Vikarabad under the Tourism Hub Development Scheme, focusing on the enhancement of the Sri Veerabhadraswami Temple. He ordered the establishment of a managing committee for the temple, akin to Yadadrigutta. Reddy emphasized the conversion of heritage structures like Puranapul into tourist attractions and called for the formulation and execution of necessary plans.
Regarding tourism sector investments, the Chief Minister stressed the need to prepare for the Global Investment Summit scheduled for December. He instructed officials to form high-level committees to ensure coordination among various departments for the summit. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, Special Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Tourism Department Special Principal Secretary Vani Prasad, and other senior officials.
