Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to request support for key infrastructure projects in the state. He emphasized the importance of utilizing Godavari waters for irrigation and drinking water needs, stressing its significance for Telangana’s future.
The Chief Minister also sought approval for Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion, with proposals worth Rs 38,595 crore for extending the Metro network by 122.9 kilometers across seven corridors under Phase-2. Additionally, he urged immediate approval for the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) works, highlighting the completion of land acquisition awards for over 90% of the northern section.
Revanth Reddy underlined the critical nature of constructing the southern section of the RRR, stating that its completion from Choutuppal to Sangareddy would enhance Hyderabad’s transportation network. He requested simultaneous approval and implementation of both the northern and southern corridors. Furthermore, he sought approval for the Hyderabad–Amaravati–Bandar Port Expressway, emphasizing its strategic importance for Telangana’s connectivity and export sectors.
The Chief Minister also pushed for the commencement of work on the Warangal airport, noting that land acquisition is complete and the site has been handed over to the Airports Authority of India. He highlighted the benefits of making the Warangal airport operational for North Telangana’s industrial, educational, and tourism sectors. Additionally, he requested the establishment of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad, offering 200 acres of land for the institute.
