Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged people to stay alert and take precautions in response to the IMD’s alert about severe heat wave conditions. In light of the intense heat wave in North Telangana districts, the Chief Minister has instructed officials to implement all necessary preventive measures. This includes ensuring the availability of ORS packets, providing drinking water, and maintaining uninterrupted power supply.
The Chief Minister’s Office has directed the Medical and Health Department to offer enhanced medical care to patients suffering from sunstroke and admitted to hospitals. Local authorities have been tasked with establishing free drinking water centers in urban areas. CM Revanth Reddy has advised people to avoid going out and traveling during the afternoon hours to safeguard against the heat. He has also instructed the Chief Secretary to monitor the situation closely and issue guidelines to district Collectors for public safety during the summer.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for specific districts over the next five days. The IMD bulletin states that heat wave conditions are likely in various districts, including Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, and others. Meanwhile, some districts in Telangana experienced heat wave conditions on Wednesday, with temperatures soaring above 42 degrees Celsius in many areas.
