Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, has cautioned Congress party leaders about strict consequences if they do not comply with party directives during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls by the Election Commission of India (ECI). In a Zoom meeting, Chief Minister Reddy urged Ministers, MLAs, MPs, and constituency in-charges to be vigilant due to concerns about potential removal of legitimate voters from the list.
He emphasized that in-charges failing to follow party instructions will be replaced promptly. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of the SIR process and urged party Sarpanches to raise awareness in villages. CM Reddy highlighted the significance of protecting the voting rights of the underprivileged during the SIR, as losing their votes could lead to the loss of Aadhaar and ration cards.
CM Reddy directed leaders to conduct more awareness meetings on SIR and assigned additional responsibilities to in-charge ministers for successful implementation. He insisted that all leaders adhere strictly to party guidelines to prevent any harm to the party’s interests. The meeting was attended by various leaders including Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC in-charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan.
