Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has prohibited the practice of milk and water ablutions during party events. State Congress Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud instructed party members against conducting ‘palaabhishekam’ and ‘jalabhishekam’ at any Congress program, emphasizing that such rituals contradict the party’s principles. Violators of these directives will face disciplinary measures.
Furthermore, TPCC Vice-President T. Kumar Rao issued a circular enforcing the ban, following instructions from AICC In-Charge for Telangana, Meenakshi Natrajan. The circular emphasized the need for all party members to comply with the decision to disallow ‘Palabhishekam’ and ‘Jalaabhishekam,’ suggesting the distribution of food items as an alternative.
The circular also addressed the prohibition of using JCBs, bulldozers, or heavy machinery to garland party leaders, considering these symbols as oppressive. This practice has been strictly forbidden, with warnings of disciplinary actions for those who continue to use such vehicles for garlanding purposes.
