Telangana Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud has requested the state’s Chief Electoral Officer to proceed carefully with the Special Intensive Revision, citing its impact on government change in West Bengal. Goud emphasized the need for a fair and impartial approach during a meeting where a memorandum was submitted by Congress leaders.
Goud highlighted concerns over rushing the Special Intensive Revision, linking it to electoral outcomes. He proposed a phased timeline of one-and-a-half years for the process, considering the ongoing Census activities and the potential strain on staff. The Congress delegation, including prominent members, stressed the importance of conducting the revision meticulously to avoid confusion and ensure transparency.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee advocated for an extended response period to notices issued during the revision process, emphasizing the need for thorough verification procedures. They urged for a cautious approach, citing instances of hasty deletions in other states, and recommended a more deliberative timeline to address objections and alleviate public concerns.
