The Telangana Drugs Control Administration is taking steps to guarantee the supply of essential and life-saving medications throughout the state on May 20, in response to a nationwide bandh call by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists. A public advisory has been issued by the Drugs Control Administration to ensure patient safety and continuous access to necessary medicines.

Director General Avinash Mohanty of the Drugs Control Administration disclosed that pharmacy stores linked to hospitals will remain operational to prevent inconvenience to the public. District chapters of the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists will coordinate with Drug Inspectors to ensure medicine availability in local stores during emergencies. Corporate medical outlets like Apollo and MedPlus have also been instructed to stay open.

In case of any challenges in accessing essential or emergency medicines on May 20, the public is encouraged to contact the local Drug Inspector or Assistant Director of the Drugs Control Administration for immediate assistance. The Drugs Control Administration is actively monitoring the situation statewide to ensure the availability of crucial medicines, with field officers instructed to be vigilant and address any medicine-related issues promptly.

The contact details and office addresses of Drugs Control Administration officials can be found on the Telangana Drugs Control Administration’s official website under the “Key Contacts” section. For inquiries or assistance regarding medicine availability, the public can reach out to the toll-free number 1800 599 6969. All stakeholders are urged to collaborate in maintaining uninterrupted access to medicines for the public during the bandh period.
