The Telangana government is considering establishing a large comprehensive data center and AI infrastructure campus in the state, as mentioned by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. This initiative was discussed during a meeting with Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of expanding Airtel’s digital, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI operations in Hyderabad and proposed the early launch of the Chandanvelli data center project.
Sunil Mittal, during the meeting, expressed that Bharti company is contemplating making Hyderabad the second headquarters for Airtel. He also committed to enhancing data center capacity and expanding fiber connectivity in the region. Additionally, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy briefed Mittal on the educational reforms in Telangana, including the establishment of Young India Skill University and the transformation of Industrial Training Institutes into Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs).
At the meeting, Mittal announced scholarships for students in government schools and ATCs through the Bharti Foundation. The discussions took place at the Bodhi Pavilion at MCRHRD Institute, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated various developmental projects funded by HDFC Bank CSR. The event was attended by notable officials, including Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and Rajya Sabha Member Vem Narendar Reddy.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, at a separate event, emphasized the need to provide generous loans to women’s self-help groups for establishing logistics parks, godowns, and rice mills. He acknowledged the commendable repayment track record of these groups and urged for substantial financial support for their initiatives.
