The Telangana government has reached out to the Indian Consulate General in Turkey for assistance in finding a young woman from Telangana who went missing at Istanbul Airport. Bokka Rajashree, a resident of Medchal Malakjgiri district, was traveling from Houston to Hyderabad via Istanbul.
Telangana’s Chief Secretary informed the Consulate General that Rajashree was supposed to take a connecting flight to Muscat from Istanbul but did not board the flight as scheduled. Concerns arose when her family discovered that she had requested wheelchair assistance and her whereabouts were unknown.
Rajashree, who had been pursuing a Master of Science degree in the US since 2022, has been dealing with depression following her father’s passing. Her family, worried about her safety, has sought assistance from the state government to locate her in Istanbul.
The state government has requested the Consulate General to collaborate with local authorities to trace Rajashree’s location at the airport. Efforts are underway to gather information about her well-being and travel status through official channels.
Congress MP Kiran Kumar Chamala has also expressed concern over Rajashree’s disappearance and is working with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Consulate General, to ensure her safety and provide necessary support.
