Telangana’s minister for transport and backward classes welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, urged the BJP to apologize to the nation for the alleged misappropriation of funds at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. He criticized the BJP for using religious sentiments for political gains, emphasizing that the theft from the temple was a disgrace to Hindus. Prabhakar highlighted that the BJP, which campaigned on the basis of faith, faced defeat in Ayodhya due to corruption allegations.
The Congress leader stressed the need for the BJP to address the accusations of fund embezzlement and issue a public apology. He alleged that the party manipulated donations meant for the Ram Mandir and exploited religious symbols for electoral purposes. Prabhakar called on senior BJP figures to clarify the situation and admit any wrongdoing in the matter. He also emphasized the importance of the ongoing electoral roll revision process in Telangana, urging party workers to ensure the inclusion of all eligible voters.
Prabhakar disclosed that he personally oversaw training sessions for Congress workers in various areas and highlighted the significance of the electoral enumeration process in upholding democracy. He mentioned the distribution of enumeration forms to households and instructed party agents to collaborate with officials to prevent any voter exclusion. Additionally, a meeting was convened for parliamentary constituencies under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
