Telangana’s Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, has called for an apology from Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan before his planned public meeting in Hyderabad. Prabhakar accused Kalyan of disrespecting Telangana and aligning with the BJP’s agenda. He highlighted Kalyan’s past remarks that had offended the people of Telangana, emphasizing that such behavior would not be tolerated.

Prabhakar, addressing a press conference, criticized Kalyan’s motives behind organizing the public meeting and alleged a hidden agenda to incite division in Telangana. He reiterated that the people of Telangana hold affection for Andhra Pradesh but will not accept any form of insult. The minister emphasized that Kalyan’s actions were seen as an attempt to disrupt the harmony in Telangana by aligning with the BJP.

Furthermore, Prabhakar questioned the necessity of holding the ‘Nava Nirmana Sabha’ in Telangana and pointed out the absence of such events in BJP-ruled states. He warned against attempts to sow discord in Telangana and expressed that any provocations would not go unchallenged. Prabhakar also referenced a prior incident involving Kalyan’s comments on the development of Konaseema, which had sparked controversy in the region.
