Telangana’s revenue minister, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, emphasized the state government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to farmers. He mentioned that the government is actively implementing various programs to support farmers, including procuring paddy and maize at Minimum Support Price with prompt payments to farmers. The minister made these statements during a Praja Darbar event in Khammam district as part of the ‘Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika’ initiative.
Srinivasa Reddy also highlighted key initiatives such as waiving crop loans for 25 lakh farmers and increasing financial aid under Rythu Bharosa to Rs 12,000 per acre. Additionally, the government is providing a Rs 500 bonus per quintal for fine paddy and will conduct a subsidy distribution program for agricultural equipment from May 5 to 7. He encouraged farmers to participate in upcoming farmers’ festivals and take advantage of the agricultural tools subsidy distribution program in Warangal.
The minister underscored the establishment of a Farmers’ Commission after the Congress government came to power in Telangana. He criticized the previous government for not providing agricultural tools subsidies to farmers and highlighted the current administration’s focus on transparent governance and efficient delivery of welfare schemes. Srinivasa Reddy assured citizens that the government is dedicated to promptly addressing legitimate applications without political bias, particularly focusing on resolving long-pending issues related to land records and welfare schemes.
