Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar participated in the Eruvaka Purnima celebrations by ploughing fields and sowing seeds, marking the start of the new agricultural season. The event took place in Kurella village of Koheda Mandal, Husnabad constituency, Siddipet district. Various officials, sarpanches, and farmers joined the Minister in this agricultural activity.
Prabhakar highlighted the significance of Eruvaka Pournami in Telangana’s farming culture, emphasizing its role as a sacred day when farmers begin agricultural activities by honoring Mother Earth. He stressed the importance of farmers in the nation’s prosperity and assured the government’s commitment to their welfare.
The Minister underscored the government’s support for farmers through initiatives such as enhancing irrigation facilities, providing quality seeds and fertilizers, and developing agricultural infrastructure. He urged farmers to adopt scientific methods, utilize quality seeds, and embrace modern technology for higher yields. Prabhakar also encouraged water conservation and climate-resilient crop selection.
Prabhakar expressed hopes for abundant rains during the kharif season, ensuring successful crop growth and economic returns for farmers. He reiterated the government’s dedication to farmers’ well-being and the continuous development of the agriculture sector.
