Telangana Police Officers’ Association and IAS Officers’ Association have criticized BRS MLA P. Kaushik Reddy for his comments against Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam. They have urged the MLA to retract his statements and apologize to the Commissioner and other police officers.
The MLA from Huzurabad faced a confrontation with the police when they prevented his convoy from proceeding to a religious event. This led to a standoff on the highway in Huzurabad town, followed by a verbal altercation between the MLA’s group and the police.
Kaushik Reddy engaged in a heated argument with the police at the Jatara site in Veenavanka, alleging mistreatment of a village sarpanch. Subsequently, the MLA was taken into police custody but was later released.
Gopireddy Yedula, President of Telangana Police Officers’ Association, denounced the MLA’s disrespectful behavior towards police officers enforcing court orders during the election period. The MLA’s actions, including his conduct towards female officers and disruption of law and order, were strongly condemned.
The IAS Officers’ Association expressed dismay over the MLA’s divisive remarks against the Karimnagar Police Commissioner, emphasizing the importance of upholding the law without bias. The Association demanded a public apology from the MLA for his derogatory comments and called for appropriate action to address the breach of conduct.
Kaushik Reddy clarified that his words were not intentional and expressed regret if they caused offense. He acknowledged the pressure faced during the incident but emphasized his respect for the police and officials.
