Telangana’s Director General of Police, C.V. Anand, has instructed unit officers to boost the state’s cyber security performance as per national standards. Currently ranked 15th in cyber security parameters, Telangana aims to excel in combating cybercrime by staying technologically advanced.
During a video conference, the DGP reviewed the implementation of Cyber Security initiatives, e-Zero FIR, and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) with officers from all police units. He emphasized the need for Telangana Police to lead in technology to tackle the rising cyber threats effectively.
The DGP highlighted that the Prime Minister’s PRAGATI platform monitors key projects nationwide, expressing concerns over the surge in cyber frauds, especially “Digital Arrest” scams. Telangana Police must ensure effective implementation of nine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance its national ranking in cyber security.
Appreciating the efforts of T-SPARK and the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TCSB), the DGP urged officers to strengthen capacity building and cyber awareness activities among the public. Emphasizing technology-driven investigations, he directed the use of CCTNS for efficient cybercrime policing.
