Telangana Rakshana Sena President, K Kavitha, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the immediate removal of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, from the Union Council of Ministers due to a POCSO case against his son, Bageerath. Kavitha highlighted a First Information Report (FIR) filed against Kumar’s son under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
In her letter to Prime Minister Modi, Kavitha emphasized the need for institutional propriety, legal ethics, and public trust in the composition of the Union Council of Ministers. She pointed out that Kumar’s position in the Ministry of Home Affairs, a crucial portfolio with significant administrative influence over law enforcement, poses a conflict of interest.
Kavitha stressed the importance of ensuring the independence, transparency, and fairness of the ongoing investigation and subsequent judicial proceedings. She underlined the necessity of maintaining public faith in the justice system’s neutrality, especially in cases involving minors. Kavitha urged the Prime Minister to temporarily remove Kumar from his ministerial position until the investigation and trial are completed to uphold public confidence and prioritize justice for minors.
