Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) leader, K. Kavitha, criticized the Congress government in Telangana for allegedly scheming to obstruct the fee reimbursement scheme. The government’s G.O. Ms No. 7 announced the direct deposit of Rs. 11,000 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues to students’ parents instead of colleges.
Kavitha condemned the government’s actions as an attempt to suppress college managements fighting for their reimbursement dues. She vowed to persist in the fight until the revocation of G.O. Ms No. 7 and the payment of dues to colleges. Addressing a roundtable on ‘Quality education and fee regulation,’ she also denounced the significant rise in school fees.
Demanding immediate action, Kavitha urged the Congress Party to issue a fee regulation G.O. in May, as promised. She called for restrictions on private educational institutions imposing exorbitant fees on students’ parents. Kavitha highlighted a 120% fee hike by Hyderabad Public School and raised concerns about alleged corrupt practices and lack of oversight within the institution.
