Telangana’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has named Vaddiraju Ravichandra, its Rajya Sabha member, as the leader of the BRS Parliamentary Party. This appointment was made by BRS President Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), designating Ravichandra as the BRS floor leader in the Rajya Sabha.
Previously serving as the deputy leader of the BRS Parliamentary Party, Ravichandra was chosen for a second term in the Rajya Sabha by KCR. This decision was based on his contributions to the party, Backward Classes, and Bahujan communities, as stated by the BRS.
Ravichandra’s tenure as a Rajya Sabha member is set to conclude in April 2030. He currently holds positions in key committees related to Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of Coal and Mines. Expressing gratitude for his new role, Ravichandra pledged to advocate for Telangana’s interests in Parliament and work towards strengthening the party under KCR’s leadership.
The BRS, with three members in the Rajya Sabha including Ravichandra, D. Damodar Rao, and Dr. Bandi Parthasaradhi Reddy, lacks representation in the Lok Sabha following the 2024 polls where it did not secure any seats.
