Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has responded to a social media post suggesting the resignation of education ministers in Punjab, Kerala, and Karnataka following Dharmendra Pradhan’s departure. The post, shared on X, urged political figures like Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal to support this call. Devoleena commented on the post, emphasizing the need for prompt action and resignation.
In a separate incident, actress Shweta Tiwari also commented on Pradhan’s resignation, sharing a video where a leader suggested seeking resignations of underperforming Cabinet ministers. Tiwari questioned when the Punjab Education Minister would resign and criticized the political party involved.
Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his role on June 25 amid student protests and public outcry over alleged examination system flaws, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. His resignation followed criticism of police actions against protesters at Jantar Mantar, which sparked nationwide reactions and support for the students’ cause.
The protests intensified after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was removed from the protest site, prompting demands for accountability and Pradhan’s resignation. Wangchuk’s hunger strike highlighted concerns over competitive examination issues and the need for government accountability.
