The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), leading the Andhra Pradesh coalition government, has decided to vie for three Rajya Sabha seats, reserving one for its ally Jana Sena. The decision was made during a meeting involving leaders from TDP, Jana Sena, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The NDA, with a significant majority in the state legislative Assembly, is poised to secure all four Rajya Sabha seats up for grabs on June 18. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan of Jana Sena and state BJP president PVN Madhav, presided over the meeting.
Following discussions on the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and achievements of NDA governments, TDP and Jana Sena are expected to unveil their candidates soon. The filing of nominations closes on June 8, with polling scheduled for June 18.
