Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD) 2026 for his remarkable five-decade-long contribution to the film industry. The award ceremony took place at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam, where he was recognized for his significant service to Indian cinema and his exceptional talent and dedication to acting.
During the event in New Delhi, Nandamuri Balakrishna was presented with the award by Delhi’s Honorary Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the presence of prominent figures from the film and cultural domains. His film ‘Bhagavanth Kesari,’ directed by Anil Ravipudi, had previously won the Best Film in Telugu at the 71st National Film Awards and was screened at the festival, with the actor, director, and producer in attendance.
Expressing his gratitude after the screening, Nandamuri Balakrishna attributed his success to his parents’ blessings, emphasizing their crucial role in his 50-year career in the film industry. He highlighted his father’s advocacy for women’s rights and empowerment, underscoring his commitment to continuing his father’s legacy and ideals in both cinema and public service. In 2025, Balakrishna was honored with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his significant contributions to arts and cinema.
