A temporary ban on drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been enforced along the convoy routes of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, who is set to visit Kallakurichi on Friday. The decision was announced by Kallakurichi Collector M.S. Prasanth to enhance security measures for the Chief Minister’s visit, where he will inaugurate the newly constructed Integrated Collectorate complex at Veeracholapuram.
The ban on drones and UAVs will be applicable on all identified convoy routes and surrounding areas to ensure the safety and smooth movement of the Chief Minister’s convoy, as per the official itinerary. This restriction covers areas like Ulundurpet, Veeracholapuram, Emapper, and other locations within the Kallakurichi district.
Authorities have taken this preventive measure due to the increasing use of drones and the potential security threats posed by unauthorized aerial activities during the movement of prominent public figures. The Collector emphasized that strict legal actions will be taken against any individuals or organizations found violating the ban.
Law enforcement agencies and local officials have been directed to oversee the restricted areas closely and ensure full compliance with the ban. The public, drone operators, and photography enthusiasts have been urged to cooperate with the administration by following the restrictions during the specified period.
District officials have confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure the Chief Minister’s visit proceeds smoothly without any disruptions, with security being the top priority throughout the event.
