Tension arose at BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar’s office in Karimnagar, Telangana when BJP workers reportedly attempted to attack BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy due to his comments about Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Supporters of Bandi Sanjay damaged Kaushik Reddy’s car and vandalized furniture at Kamalakar’s office. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) workers confronted the opposing group, leading to police intervention and the detention of some BRS workers.
The conflict started when Kaushik Reddy, during a press conference at Kamalakar’s office, accused Bandi Sanjay of drug use mixed with tobacco and commented on his hair loss due to this habit. Kaushik Reddy also challenged Bandi Sanjay to undergo a drug test, claiming BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) was willing to do the same. In response to these allegations, BJP workers arrived at Kamalakar’s office and tried to assault Kaushik Reddy, damaging his car and office furniture in the process.
Amidst the chaos, BRS workers also caused damage to Bandi Sanjay’s car in the vicinity. BRS working president KTR strongly condemned the attack on Karimnagar BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar’s office and MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy by Bandi Sanjay’s supporters. KTR criticized the police for not intervening effectively and described the attack as a shameful act.
Former minister T. Harish Rao of BRS also denounced the assault by BJP members on the camp office of Karimnagar BRS MLA and MLA Kaushik Reddy. Rao questioned the state’s peace and security situation when elected representatives face such brazen attacks. He demanded immediate action against the perpetrators and urged the Telangana DGP to ensure peace and security in the state, warning of potential public unrest if such incidents persist.
