A terrorist hideout was discovered in Srinagar district, Jammu and Kashmir, with the arrest of five overground workers, including a doctor, by the police. The joint team, led by senior police officers from various stations, uncovered the hideout in Chana Mohalla, Mulfaq area, seizing an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and a hand grenade. Multiple operations were conducted leading to the arrests and recovery of incriminating materials.
During a police check at Nard Sangri, five individuals were apprehended, and items like hand grenades, magazines, live rounds, posters, and mobile phones were seized from them. The police have initiated an investigation after registering a case at Police Station Panthachowk. Further probes are ongoing to dismantle the broader terror network and identify other associates involved.
Under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, G.V. Chakravarty, operations were carried out to target terrorists, their overground workers, and sympathizers in Srinagar. The security forces are actively engaged in anti-terrorist operations to disrupt the support system of terror in Jammu and Kashmir. The army and Border Security Force are vigilant on the Line of Control and International Border to counter infiltration and other illicit activities from across the border.
