Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Tesla has introduced North India’s inaugural in-mall charging station at Nexus Select CityWalk in New Delhi. The facility boasts six destination chargers, each with an 11 kW capacity, allowing Tesla owners to conveniently charge their vehicles while shopping or dining. Tesla emphasizes that the new charging site offers exceptional reliability, boasting a 99.95% uptime rate.
The newly inaugurated charging location, situated in the mall’s P1 parking area, marks Tesla’s sixth operational charging site in India. This includes a total of 20 superchargers and 20 destination chargers across the country. In conjunction with the charging infrastructure, Tesla has also unveiled a pop-up store running from July 6 to July 10. Visitors can explore the recently launched Model Y L and the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, featuring guided walkarounds, product demonstrations, and test drives.
The Model Y L, an all-wheel-drive electric SUV with a six-seater, three-row seating configuration, touts a claimed driving range of up to 681 km (WLTP). Accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds, this model starts at a price of Rs 61.99 lakh. On the other hand, the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, accommodating up to five passengers, offers a claimed range of up to 500 km (WLTP). Priced from Rs 50.89 lakh, this model accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds.
Tesla highlights that both the Model Y L and the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive have garnered top safety ratings from various global safety assessment bodies, including the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Euro NCAP, ANCAP, and C-IASI. Interested buyers can now book these models through Tesla’s official website, with home charging support available in all Indian states.
