The TG20 Player Auction commenced at Princess Convention Centre, Ramoji Film City, featuring a player pool of over 1,300 HCA-registered cricketers. Franchises began building their squads by securing talented players across the Icon, A+, and A categories. The auction attracted international stars, domestic performers, and district cricketers, aligning with TG20’s aim to provide a premier platform for Telangana talent.
India’s Tilak Varma emerged as the top-priced player, signing with Medak Falcons for Rs 33 Lakhs in the Icon Category. Mohammed Siraj was acquired by Warangal Warriors for Rs 14 Lakhs, while CV Milind became the costliest uncapped player, joining Anvita Khammam Aces for Rs 17 Lakhs. Notable signings in the Icon category included players like Ravi Kiran, T. Raviteja, Tanay Thyagarajan, Rahul Buddhi, Tanmay Agarwal, and Rohit Rayudu.
In the A+ Category, players like Aman Rao, Pragnay Reddy, Ajay Dev Goud, Nitin Sai Yadav, Aaron George, and Rakshann Readdi were among the key acquisitions as franchises strengthened their squads. Emerging talents in the A Category also saw strong bidding, with Arfaz Ahmed and Abhirath Reddy being the top buys at Rs 11 Lakhs each. Chandan Sahani, Pranav Varma, and Hima Teja were among the other notable signings.
The auction was overseen by sports presenter and auctioneer Charu Sharma, with franchise owners, team representatives, and league officials in attendance. The inaugural edition of TG20 is set to kick off on June 21 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, featuring 8 franchises competing in 32 matches over 21 days.
