Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew claimed victory at the Mumbai Open WTA 125K Series, securing her first title after defeating Lilli Tagger in the finals. Sawangkaew, who was the runner-up last year, earned 125 points and a prize of $15,500, while Tagger received 81 points and $8,400 as the runner-up.
In the doubles category, Elena Pridankina and Polina Iatcenko emerged as champions, earning 125 points and $6,000 in prize money. The runners-up received 81 points and a prize of $4,300.
The singles final saw a competitive match with Sawangkaew taking the first set after a crucial break. Despite Tagger’s efforts in the second set, Sawangkaew secured a 6-4, 6-3 victory in an hour and 25 minutes.
In the doubles final, Elena Pridankina and Polina Iatcenko defeated Sawangkaew and Nicole Fossa Huergo in a thrilling tiebreaker, winning 7-6 (7-3), 1-6, (10-5) to clinch the title.
