Thousands of people assembled at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium to greet Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst chants of ‘Modi’, ‘Modi’, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The crowd, largely consisting of the Indian diaspora, expressed immense excitement as PM Modi entered alongside Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, receiving a thunderous welcome. Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan’s address also garnered enthusiastic cheers before the leaders took the stage.

The Premier welcomed the leaders, emphasizing Victoria’s identity as the education hub, multicultural capital, and sports center of Australia. She highlighted the significant Indian population in the region, stating that the stadium’s 30,000 attendees made a powerful statement. Allan noted that this gathering marked one of the largest for any world leader in Australia, drawing applause from the audience.

The event, named ‘Melbourne Meets Modi’, witnessed a massive turnout reflecting the Indian diaspora’s fervor, resonating with chants of ‘Modi, Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. The venue buzzed with cultural performances, music, and patriotic chants, keeping the crowd energized as they awaited PM Modi’s appearance. Indian and Australian flags waved throughout the stadium, symbolizing the strong bonds between the two nations.

Members of the Indian diaspora shared their anticipation ahead of PM Modi’s speech, with one individual expressing excitement for witnessing a historic moment in Melbourne. Another attendee eagerly awaited Modi’s address, proclaiming, “I’m a huge fan of Narendra Modi ji. He’s the man behind the incredible India today, who shaped India in many ways and made great decisions for an incredible India today.”
