In a significant move towards ensuring housing for all and enhancing infrastructure, more than 38,000 families are set to be handed keys to their new permanent homes in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Manohar Lal will distribute housing approvals and conduct the bhoomi pujan for a major road project in Saver, Indore district on June 20. Approvals exceeding Rs 2,500 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) will benefit over 42,000 eligible recipients.
The leaders will also inaugurate the construction of the Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Expressway, stretching 48.10 km and costing an estimated Rs 2,935 crore. This project, developed by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, on the Hybrid Annuity Model (40:60), aims to revolutionize connectivity in the Malwa region, reducing travel time between Indore and Ujjain significantly while enhancing safety and convenience.
The expressway is anticipated to stimulate economic activities, industrial investments, trade, logistics, agricultural marketing, and religious tourism in the region. The project includes provisions for local residents and farmers, such as 18 underpasses and 19 junction improvement works, along with grade-separated junctions on the Western Ring Road and Ujjain-Badnavar Road. Additionally, comprehensive safety measures like ambulances, cranes, and patrolling vehicles at toll plazas will ensure swift emergency responses.
This initiative highlights the state’s dedication to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India by 2047 through robust urban housing and modern infrastructure. The new expressway is poised to unlock the region’s potential, fostering accelerated growth and an improved quality of life for Madhya Pradesh residents. This program signifies a crucial advancement in the state’s journey towards holistic development, integrating social welfare with strategic infrastructure creation.
