Panic ensued at the Sri Ganganagar Court campus after an anonymous letter from a fictitious Kolkata address threatened to bomb the premises. Security was heightened, with a bomb disposal squad from Bikaner arriving and a thorough search conducted by the dog squad and bomb disposal team. Court proceedings resumed only after clearance was given.
Security agencies are investigating to trace the sender of the threatening letter, with assistance from the Cyber Cell and Postal Department. Following the incident, strict surveillance measures have been implemented at the court complex, with heightened alertness and scrutiny at entry and exit points.
In a similar incident on March 10, the Passport Office in Sri Ganganagar had also received a bomb threat via email, leading to a search by the bomb disposal squad. No suspicious items were found, and operations resumed the next day.
