Three individuals have been apprehended for reportedly sexually assaulting a young woman in Kolkata’s Thakurpukur region. The incident, as per police sources, occurred on Saturday night. The primary accused, identified as the woman’s acquaintance, allegedly engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with her, while another individual purportedly disrobed her and behaved inappropriately.
The arrests were made by the Thakurpukur Police Station officials following a complaint lodged by the victim. The authorities are investigating the roles played by each of the accused in the incident. The victim’s mobile phone, which was allegedly taken by the accused, has been retrieved by the police.
The investigation is ongoing, with the police interrogating the detained individuals to gather more information about the occurrence. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) of Kolkata Police, Kunal Aggarwal, affirmed that immediate legal action was taken upon receiving the complaint. The authorities are meticulously examining forensic evidence, witness testimonies, and statements to establish the facts of the case.
