Three CRPF troopers sustained injuries in a road accident in Nowgam, Srinagar, near the Taingan Bypass. The incident occurred while they were deployed for the Amarnath Yatra. The driver responsible for the collision has been apprehended.
The injured personnel, belonging to the D Company of the CRPF’s 148th Battalion, were promptly taken to Ujala Cygnus Hospital in Nowgam for medical care. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter after registering a case. Security forces have been vigilant following recent incidents to ensure the safety of pilgrims on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Last week, seven CRPF personnel were injured in a separate incident in Sonmarg due to a driver losing control of their vehicle. The CRPF plays a crucial role in securing the NH-44 for the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra. Security measures have been heightened along the route and at key locations to safeguard the pilgrimage.
