At least three individuals lost their lives and numerous others were injured in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district when a private bus collided head-on with a container truck, leading to a fire. The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday near Shirivellametta village.
The collision, which resulted from the bus losing control after a tire burst, claimed the lives of both drivers and the truck’s cleaner. The private bus was en route from Nellore to Hyderabad with 36 passengers on board when the accident unfolded.
The collision sparked a massive fire that engulfed both vehicles swiftly, causing panic among passengers. Despite initial difficulties with the bus doors, most passengers managed to evacuate safely, with only three fatalities reported. Local residents and authorities promptly responded to the scene to assist in the rescue efforts.
Authorities have confirmed that four passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The damaged vehicles have been retained for further investigation, with forensic teams being dispatched to determine the exact cause of the fire.
