Three individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident when a pickup van they were traveling in overturned in the Chandni Biharpur region of Surajpur district, Chhattisgarh. The accident occurred during the early hours of Wednesday near Umzhar valley in the Moharsop outpost area. Police officials reported that the pickup vehicle, carrying passengers returning from a wedding-related ceremony, lost control and flipped over.
Two of the passengers tragically died on the spot, while another injured individual passed away during treatment, bringing the total death toll to three, as confirmed by the police. The passengers, part of the Pando family from Biharpur village, had attended a “Chouthi” ceremony in Rasauki village and were on their way back home when the driver lost control near Umzhar valley, leading to the vehicle overturning.
The scene of the accident was chaotic, with cries filling the air as passengers grappled with the aftermath. Sita Kunwar Pando and Ramsharan Pando were among the victims who lost their lives instantly at the accident site. Another injured passenger, Basanti Pando, succumbed to her injuries during treatment, according to officials. Approximately a dozen others sustained injuries, with three individuals reported to be in critical condition.
