The Tipra Motha Party (TMP), an ally of the ruling BJP, has maintained its hold over the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), a crucial political body in Tripura. The council, with 30 members, oversees a significant portion of the state’s geographical area.
Under the leadership of Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, the TMP has secured 18 seats and is leading in four more constituencies. The BJP has won two seats and is ahead in four others, while the Left Front and Congress have not secured any seats in this election.
With consecutive victories in the TTAADC, the TMP has solidified its position in Tripura’s political landscape. The council, established in 1985 under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, holds authority over a substantial portion of the state’s territory.
Amid tight security measures, the vote counting process for the TTAADC elections is ongoing across all districts of Tripura. Security arrangements, including prohibitory orders, have been implemented to maintain law and order during the counting process.
