A tragic road accident in Arrah, Bihar, took the life of Rajiv Ranjan, also known as Goldie, a 42-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Bihar Police Special Branch. The incident occurred when a speeding private school bus allegedly ran over his motorcycle on the Bypass Road under the Town Police Station’s jurisdiction. Despite locals’ efforts to rush him to Sadar Hospital, Rajiv succumbed to his critical injuries on the way.
The school bus driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, parking the bus near a private bus stand before escaping. Police have seized the bus and initiated a search operation to locate the absconding driver. Rajiv Ranjan, a resident of Baligaon village in Ward No. 9 under the Ayar Police Station’s jurisdiction, was the son of Ram Layak Singh, whose sudden demise has deeply shocked his family and the police department.
Rajiv, who was returning to Patna from a Satlehan ritual ceremony in his village, was described by locals as a dedicated and sincere police officer. His untimely death has sparked grief and anger among residents, with many demanding the immediate arrest of the bus driver. The Town Police Station officials have launched an investigation into the accident, examining the site and collecting evidence to determine the crash’s exact cause and identify the responsible driver.
